What is the Church of Christ?

The Definition of a Church The church is not the building, it is the people who come together in close fellowship to worship Christ.   It is based on a promise of Jesus that when people gather together in his name that he would be present in their midst.   The communion is the breaking of bread and sharing of wine that we do in remembrance of His love and sacrifice, to be one body in Christ and for remission of sins.   Worship can be in silence or traditional praise with songs and dance as the Israelites did to celebrate the Lord and for his goodness and providence. Matthew 18:20  For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. 1 Corinthians 12:12  For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.  13  For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all m...

Who is a Christian?

General Definition of a Christianity Who is a Christian? A Christian in general means Christ-like, or one who follows the teachings of Christ.   A Christian must be mindful of his ways that he breaks not any of the commandments, and judges not that he may not be judged.   Through love he should demonstrate the love of Christ and be mindful of his neighbour, every person associated with him, and through his good works, so his faith is manifested in works. Romans 10:9  that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  10  For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  11  For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”  12  For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him.  13  ...

Was Jesus cursed by God?

Jesus The Passover Lamb This question of whether Jesus was accursed stems from the old testament which states that all who are hung are accursed by God.   As per the old laws and traditions they should not leave a body to rot on the tree as it becomes a curse for the very land and against Jewish customs. Deuteronomy 21:23  His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance. In the Roman era, the crucification was one of the most notorious punishments.   The doctrine of double jeopardy was known to the Greeks and Romans, and it was eventually acknowledged in Justinian's Digest as the rule that the governor should not allow the same person to be charged for a crime for which he had previously been tried and convicted.   In the case of Jesus, Jesus was sinless since birth, the same is...

Why did Jesus cry out on the cross?

At the Cross on Calvery The weakest moments of Jesus are attributed to his human nature, it is one of despair and disdain, as people looked on to see a miracle or see if the angles will rescue him.  He was deserted by all his disciples, and he had taken up the burden of the sin of all mankind upon his shoulders.  God cannot look upon sin (Habakkuk 1:13), so God could not look upon his son who took upon himself the sins of man. It is written in (Romans 6:23) that the wages of sin is death. God is impartial, so whoever bears it must face the consequence. Jesus emptied himself of divine nature, so was enduring pain and suffering, but that does not make him any lesser, he accomplished his mission, he was the passover sinless lamb that was scarified on that day for forgiveness of mankind and eternal salvation which was spoken of by Prophet (Isaiah 53:4-9) and (John 3:14) to fulfill the scriptures.   Before giving up his spirit to God, Jesus prays and recites (Psalm 22), which ...
