God does not micromanage; while animals lack understanding and programmed by instinct, we are driven by God-given intellect (Psalm 32:9, "Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding"). This life is a crucial testing ground; those who fail do not move on to God's higher reward (Matthew 25:21, "You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things").
Angels were given great power, but they rebelled and lost their authority, they still retained that power (Jude 1:6, "the angels who did not keep their positions of authority"). In contrast, humans were created as vessels to hold the presence of God through invocation, meditation and by prayer and doing His will for others—you can do all this and more by the Holy Spirit that dwells in you (1 Corinthians 6:19, "your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you"). Though we were created a little lower than heavenly beings (Psalm 8:5, "You have made them a little lower than the angels"), holding God's presence ultimately gives us authority even over angels (1 Corinthians 6:3, "Do you not know that we will judge angels?"). This life is not the end, but the beginning of an eternal journey (1 John 2:17, "the world is passing away... but whoever does the will of God lives forever"). [1]
